I’ve seen a remarkable increase in my blog traffic in the past couple of months, and if you’re a sane person doing business online, you should be interested in the reasons why.

StumbleUpon Traffic Peak

First, almost by mistake, I was reintroduced to StumbleUpon. I say reintroduced because I joined briefly a couple of years back and then decided that it was just too much of a distraction and that I should get rid of it so it didn’t lure me away from my copywriting work. I can’t quite remember how it happened that I signed up again, but I’m certainly glad that I did. After a few outragiously dramatic peaks, my traffic coming directly from StumbleUpon has been rising steadily week-by-week.

And then there’s BlogRush. I fully expect to be virtually lynched for this, but I’m very impressed wtih Blogrush. It has given me a steady stream of traffic that’s also rising weekly. I’m glad I didn’t listen to all the naysayers and decided to stay with it. In fact, today I got a notification from my web host that I have been exceeding my bandwidth. They wanted me to upgrade to a more expensive package. I won’t be doing that because I’m moving, but it is very gratifying to exceed your bandwidth, lol.

For all you Doubting Thomases out there, here’s an excerpt from the email I received:

Dear XXXXXX Customer,

Over the past month, we have been monitoring the resource usage of your Web site on our Shared hosting server. We would like to think that, with the amount of resources your site is consuming, your business is doing very well these days. Unfortunately, the plan you are currently using no longer meets your site’s requirements. We would like to invite you to review the current plans we offer, available at XXXXXXXX, and have you choose a more appropriate one for your site to avoid a disruption in service.

So there you have it. Two quick and easy procedures that will definitely get you some traffic.
